The challenge
Why they started working with WeGroup.
Thoma Assurantie- en Pensioenadviseurs is one of the larger independent advisory and MGA firms in the Netherlands: 100+ employees, a broad retail and commercial portfolio, and an advisor network that expects product news to reach it fast. The distribution itself was never the problem. The MGA backbone underneath it was. The previous platform had become a usability stumbling block for advisors, its development had effectively stopped, and every ambition Thoma had for the coming years ran into it.
So Thoma went looking for something specific. Not another tool, but a partner: a deep, future-proof ANVA integration, one user-friendly interface broad enough to carry the entire advice process, and a party that ships improvements at a pace well above the market average. That search ended at WeGroup.
While the switch was underway, PIB Group acquired Thoma. The UK-based group watched its new Dutch MGA take products from definition in ANVA to live with advisors in a matter of hours, and drew its own conclusion: WeGroup and ANVA together are now the example for how PIB wants to scale MGA distribution across Europe.
“Our previous platform was a usability stumbling block and its development had come to a standstill. We were looking for a partner with a deep, future-proof ANVA integration.”
What we built
WeGroup runs on top of ANVA as Thoma's configuration and distribution layer. Products are defined once in ANVA, configured in WeGroup and live for the advisor network the same working day. That same layer is what makes the operation ready for international scale.
One uniform workflow on ANVA
A deep two-way ANVA integration carries the entire advice process in one flow: compose, quote, close and write back. Fewer manual steps, a significant reduction in errors, and a way of working that is consistent across the whole team.
Ready for international scale
WeGroup is the configuration layer that makes cross-border MGA distribution practical: multi-currency, multilingual, and hybrid lanes in which end customer, advisor and MGA work together in the same closing flow.
Local CRM systems in sync
Integrations with local CRM systems keep every market's data aligned with the MGA backbone, and bring the opportunities hiding in advisor portfolios to light instead of leaving them buried.
Mijn Omgeving for end-clients
Every Thoma client has Mijn Omgeving at their disposal to view policies, report claims, request changes and keep contact details current, without going through the advisor first.
The numbers
What it produced, in numbers.
Products live in 6 months
Thoma shipped more than fifty retail and commercial products to the advisor network within six months of go-live.
Per product live
From product definition in ANVA to advisors quoting in the closing flow within three to six hours, with every closing written straight back to ANVA.
Total product scope
Roughly sixty products across personal, commercial and specialty propositions on one platform, packages and standalone policies in the same flow.
For pan-European MGA distribution
PIB Group now points to the WeGroup and ANVA combination as the example for how it wants to scale MGA distribution across its European markets.
The outcome
Thoma did not switch platforms for a feature. It switched because the old MGA backbone could no longer carry its future vision. WeGroup on top of ANVA now takes a product live in hours, and PIB Group holds up that combination as its blueprint for pan-European MGA distribution.
Where the previous platform had become the reason things stalled, the backbone is now the least interesting part of the operation, in the best possible way. Products are defined in ANVA, configured in WeGroup and picked up by the advisor network the same day, with packages, single policies and custom requests on one surface and ANVA quietly staying the book of record.
For PIB Group the effect reaches further than the Netherlands. The group saw how fast its Dutch firm ships and now treats the WeGroup and ANVA combination as the working example for pan-European MGA distribution: one configuration layer that handles currency, language, hybrid lanes and local CRM integrations per market.
In their words
Our previous platform was a usability stumbling block and its development had come to a standstill. We were looking for a partner with a deep, future-proof ANVA integration. WeGroup delivers exactly that: one uniform workflow that streamlines our entire advice process. The result is a significant reduction in errors and a process that is consistent across the whole team. For us, WeGroup is the central toolbox for the advisor that makes us more efficient and ready for the future.
